2023
A significant number of changes have occurred in 2023. The social distancing and mask mandates implemented due to the Coronavirus have been lifted, permitting individuals to forgo wearing masks both indoors and outdoors.
During the annual ISUS field trip, participants were able to explore Namsan without the need for masks. We embarked on a sunny-day hike down Namsan and shared a dinner gathering with all the ISUS students. It served as a platform for communication, allowing us, as alumni from various countries, to come together under a common identity.
Following the hike, we made our way to the hotel where we took the opportunity to introduce ourselves to one another, sharing insights about our respective countries and backgrounds. This interaction further enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the diverse community within ISUS.
The 2022 field trip was a memorable experience that not only allowed us to break free from the limitations imposed by the pandemic but also facilitated the building of friendships and cultural exchange. It served as a reminder of the importance of communal activities and the value of coming together as a community after a prolonged period of separation.
2022
The 2022 field trip marked a significant milestone for ISUS as it was the first one in a long time due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. With the gradual lifting of regulations on group activities, ISUS was finally able to host a group field trip after a span of 22 years. On the afternoon of Friday, September 23rd, we gathered in front of the Mirae Hall in UOS and embarked on a bus journey to Jangchung Park.
Upon arrival, we commenced the field trip with a brief warm-up session and a group photo, setting the tone for the exciting day ahead. Our main activity involved walking around the perimeter of Namsan Mountain, offering us a chance to immerse ourselves in nature and bond with fellow students. The event unfolded smoothly, providing a wonderful opportunity to not only explore the mountain but also to foster deeper connections among the participants.
2020
On October 17th, 2020, we embarked on a field trip to Namsan. We gathered at Jangchungdan Park, where we began with a warm-up exercise and an overview of the event. Our journey started by walking along Hanyang-do Castle Road, and then we proceeded towards the northern axis, eventually reaching our final destination, a shelter. During our time at Namsan, we also had the opportunity to enjoy the cable car ride to Namsan Tower, taking in the breathtaking views.
Afterwards, we visited Seodaemun City Hall, where we received an introduction to the organization. Our educational tour continued as we made our way to Seodaemun Prison, where we learned about the painful history of Korea's Japanese occupation. This visit allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the historical significance and the struggles endured during that period.
It was a memorable and enriching experience, providing us with valuable insights into both the natural beauty of Namsan and the historical context of Korea's past.
2019
On March 22nd and 23rd, 2019, the students embarked on a two-day, one-night trip to Ilsan and Paju. In Ilsan, they visited the Korea Institute of Construction Technology and had the opportunity to explore the research laboratories. Additionally, they visited the Goyang Urban Management Corporation, where they received an introduction to the organization and attended a presentation on the construction of Ilsan, which was the first new city in the area. Following these visits, the students held an exclusive workshop for ISUS members, creating a space for communication and collaboration. Finally, they traveled to Paju to participate in a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) tour at Imjingak, where they learned about the history and significance of the division between North and South Korea.
On September 28th, a group consisting of 97 IUDP students, 50 Koreans, and 13 professors and staff members gathered in Seoul for a special visit to Namsan Mountain and Changgyeong Palace. The combined participation of these individuals amounted to a total of 160 attendees. The group embarked on an exploration of Namsan Mountain along the Hanyang Doseong-gil trail, followed by a captivating guided tour of Changgyeonggung Palace.
2018
On 14-15 September 2018, ISUS's field trip took place. The students visited various institutions in Incheon, including Incheon National University, Incheon International Airport, the City History Museum and the Economic and Trade Zone Authority, and Songdo Central Park.
2017
The 2017 field trip lasted for two days, from May 26th to 27th. During this trip, the participants had the opportunity to engage in various activities and visit different locations in Korea. The main highlights of the trip included attending the Korea Land Transportation Technology Exhibition in Ilsan and exploring several sites in Incheon, such as the Gyeongin Ara Bridge, Compact Smart City, and the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall.
A total of 110 students took part in the program, representing different groups, including 20 MUAP, 20 MURD, 23 MGLEP, and 35 Korean students. The field trip commenced with a visit to the Land Transportation Technology Exhibition held at KINTEX in Ilsan, where the group had the chance to freely explore and learn about various advancements in land transportation technology.
Following the exhibition, the participants traveled to Incheon to continue their educational journey. They first visited the observatory at the Gyeongin Ara Bridge, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding area. This landmark bridge holds significance for its connection between Incheon and other regions and symbolizes the region's transportation infrastructure.

ISUS visited various locations in Incheon, South Korea, on May 20-21, 2016, as part of a two-day tour. The purpose of their visit was to gain insights into Korea's aviation industry and airport operations, as well as to foster exchanges between ISUS's students. During their stay, ISUS explored different sites, including the Incheon Institute of Technology, Incheon National University Exhibition Hall, Wolmi Park, and the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall.
On the morning of May 20th, the group received an operational lecture at Incheon International Airport, where they also had the opportunity to tour internal facilities such as moorings and control towers. This allowed them to gain a better understanding of airport operations and management .
